Emerging from a background of immense personal challenge and tragedy, Dan has become an inspiration and role model to individuals across Canada motivating them to achieve their full potential.

His deep commitment to making a difference to those in need has led to the establishment of a number of community initiatives, including the founding of The Hope Centre of Learning and the creation of the Day of Hope and Leadership which has become a signature event for local community leaders.  Dan is especially proud of the Isobel Carter Youth Fund which provides educational bursaries for youth in Durham Region.

Dan is the author of “It’s the Right Time Now” chronicling his own life story and his rise to success. Dan leads a very busy life as a television broadcaster and professional speaker.

Dan’s leadership and contributions have been widely recognized within the broader community and he has received a number of honours and awards for his work, including the Business Person of the Year by both the Whitby Chamber of Commerce and the Greater Oshawa Chamber of Commerce, the CAMH Courage to Come Back Award and the Queen’s Golden and Diamond Jubilee Medallions. Most recently Dan was conferred an honourary degree of Doctor of Laws, by the University of Ontario Institute of Technology.

Dan Carter wants to live a life that will help inspire, motivate, build and lead a nation. Dan’s belief is that we can do more and give more when we understand that we can have an impact that will make a difference today because it’s the right time now!
